M3CRC Colorectal Cancer Risk Screening Test

Colorectal cancer (commonly known as large intestine cancer) has become the most common cancer in Hong Kong since 2013 and ranks second among fatal cancers.

Studies have shown that early detection of colorectal polyps is extremely helpful in preventing colorectal cancer and improving survival rates. Small polyps are usually asymptomatic and difficult to detect. Special examinations are required to detect them.

There are many non-invasive tests that can detect colorectal cancer. However, these non-invasive testing solutions often cannot detect small polyps. The M3CRC was developed by GenieBiome (CUHK) of the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Testing from a stool sample can detect small polyps, large intestinal polyps, colorectal cancer risk, and colorectal polyp recurrence risk index.
